Admittedly, there is no shortage of iPhone clones on the market today. Depending on what you want in a phone, you have your choice of touch screen phones that play real time television, have two phone numbers or networks, allow you to advance music and media by shaking the phone (”shake and tilt”), WiFi, third party downloads via Java, Windows Mobile, etc. You really only have to determine which features you want in a phone and you can pretty much have your pick of low cost clones from which to chose.
This article will discuss the features on one of the newest cool iPhone clones - the XPhone.
Dual Sim Standby: The X phone has two sim slots that allow you to have two networks or two phone numbers running at one time. No software is needed for this. The phone will read the cards when you insert them. If you have no need for this feature, the phone will work fine without it using only one.
Tri Band: The X phone supports the GSM frequencies: 900, 1800, and 1900. This works for most networks. However there are some rural AT&T and a few Cingular networks on the 850 band. A quick call to your carrier will confirm that a tri band phone would work for you.
Standard Features: This X model mobile phone has all of the loaded features we’ve come to expect from the Chinese knock offs including web browsing, MP3 / MP4, digital camera / web cam, Fm radio, and Bluetooth. Additionally, this one has the flow touch interface which allows you to manipulate photos or scroll through files and data using only your fingers.
Additionally, it has polyphonic ring tones, SMS-text messaging, and the USB interface. Most of these are sold with 2GB of memory, but this is expandable.
Shake And Tilt: This is also called the “shake” control or “swing to the music” feature. It was made popular with models like the CECT A88 and A380i. Basically it means that you can advance or scroll thorough music and media by only shaking the phone. You can also take the picture from portrait to wide screen by tilting it.
Cool Color Choices: Through color plates, this phone is available in different colors and finishes which makes it pretty unique. Typical colors are red, blue, silver, gold, and back.
Price: Currently, the average price of the Xphone seems all over the place. I’ve seen them for as low as in the low $100s and as high as $180. I’m suspect this will stabilize the longer the phone is available.
